2025 has been a year of change, challenge, and incredible adventure. It began with heartbreak as we said goodbye to our beloved Freddy Bear and Tom’s sister, Coleen. Those losses forced us to pause and reflect on the short time we’re given in this life. The question we kept asking ourselves was simple: What are we waiting for?

We realized tomorrow isn’t guaranteed. Retirement isn’t promised. So why not live life to the fullest now, while we still can? That’s when our dream of owning an RV became reality. After years of research, we found the perfect fit, took the plunge, and began our journey in early 2025.

🚐 Starting the Journey

Our RV adventures kicked off with two new puppies in tow, adding both joy and chaos to the mix. We dove headfirst into the RV lifestyle, learning from YouTube channels like Fuel Your Wonder and RVing with Andrew Steele. Those resources helped us navigate the ups and downs, but nothing could fully prepare us for the real-life lessons.

Our very first trip to Hilton Head National RV Resort was stressful, educational, and unforgettable. Two nervous puppies, a few mishaps, and the infamous “black tank incident” taught us lessons we’ll never forget. We laughed through it all, and those moments became part of our story.

🌅 Lake Greenwood: Our Second Home

Lake Greenwood Motorcoach Resort is truly one of the South’s best-kept secrets. The serenity and peace you feel the moment you arrive is unmatched. We fell in love so deeply that we purchased a lot there after our first visit. Now, it’s our second home.

Weekends at the lake have become our rhythm. We’ve attended community events, built friendships, and found joy in being part of something special. Owning a lot has shifted our travel style, we’re saving money and enjoying the stability of a home base, while still planning big adventures each year.

🌍 Looking Ahead to 2026

The adventures aren’t slowing down. In 2026, we’re planning a multi-stop trip from South Carolina to Florida, Alabama, Georgia, and back again. Later in the summer, we’ll return to Lake Erie Shores, our second favorite resort, where we’ve even considered building a home. Ohio’s beauty makes it tempting, though the weather might be the dealbreaker!
